Canon Photomarathon Malaysia 2012 competition

Canon PhotoMarathon Asia 2012, the region’s largest photo competition that spans across nine countries celebrates its 10th anniversary this year! Bringing together photographic talents from Malaysia, India, Hong Kong, Thailand, Taiwan, Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore and Vietnam, participants will be competing for the grand prize, which is an all-expense paid trip to Hungary and a chance to be part of an unforgettable eight-day photo clinic hosted by professional travel photographer Triston Yeo.

“It is an exciting milestone for Canon PhotoMarathon Malaysia, as this year’s challenge will be held in two venues! We have received a ton of requests from our East Malaysia fans and finally this year, we are able to make Canon PhotoMarathon Malaysia 2012 happen in Kota Kinabalu too! Making history this year, the Canon PhotoMarathon Malaysia 2012 will be happening at the Boulevard, Berjaya Time Square and Lintasan Deasoka, Jalan Gaya, Kota Kinabalu simultaneously,” said Simon Wong, Director of the Imaging Communication Products Division of Canon Marketing (Malaysia).

“In line with Canon Inc.’s corporate philosophy Kyosei, which focuses on living and working together for the common good, Canon Marketing (Malaysia) always strives to give back to the society and this year we choose to support the Malaysian Association for the Blind (MAB). As photographers we understand and appreciate the ability to see and our hearts goes out to our visually impaired friends so we want to support especially MAB’s efforts to empower persons with visual impairment by providing them with opportunities that will encourage integration into society,” continued Simon.

This Canon Photomarathon Malaysia 2012 promises to be a thrilling event with many firsts as Canon Marketing (Malaysia) will be working together with other corporations to jointly sponsor this exciting photo competition. Besides the fresh new line up of prizes provided by joint sponsors such as Kata, Manfrotto and the National Geographic Society, for the first time this year, there will not be the conventional PC photo uploading stations. Participants will be able to upload their entries straight to a cloud system that is made possible by our official ICT partner of the Canon Photomarathon Malaysia 2012, YES, provider of the fastest 4G Mobile Internet with Voice.

Canon also partnered with The One Academy College this year. The One Academy students will be designing the exclusive Canon Photomarathon Malaysia 2012 T-Shirts as well as coordinating the live web streaming between both venues throughout the day, showcasing highlights and capturing the exciting moments of the challenge.
