LG Electronics (LG) today introduced its first ever gigantic 84-inch Ultra
Definition (UD) 3D TV to the Malaysian market. By combining LG’s
industry-leading CINEMA 3D technology and Smart TV features with the unique UD
display technology developed by LG’s sister company LG Display –- the only
supplier of UD panels in the industry worldwide –- this new 84-inch 3D TV breaks
new ground in immersive 3D home entertainment.
At 2160p and 8 million
pixels per frame, the 84-inch UD 3D gigantic screen - which is equivalent to
four 42-inch TVs - delivers superb and crisp picture quality at a resolution of
3840 x 2160 that is four times higher than full HD TV panels. Images are
rendered even more vivid with TruMotion 200Hz / MCI 800. Additionally, LG’s
Resolution Upscaler Plus feature allows images from external sources such as
hard drives, mobile devices and user-generated content websites to be rendered
in perfect detail; a much-needed solution to the problem of losing picture
quality when viewing such files on larger screens.
LG’s 84-inch UD 3D TV
comes complete with the company’s distinctive CINEMA 3D technology, which allows
consumers to enjoy limitless 3D content. This is made possible because LG’s 3D
glasses are lighter, battery-free and more affordable, and most importantly
allows for longer 3D viewing without the dizziness, nausea and eye fatigue that
can result from conventional 3D glasses. In addition the 2D to 3D conversion
feature and an ever expanding 3D pool of content through LG’s 3D World means
more 3D enjoyment for users.
“LG is pushing the limits of Home
Entertainment innovation with this 3D UD TV,” said HK Kwon, Managing Director,
LG Electronics (M) Sdn Bhd “We are bringing together all our Smart TV and 3D
knowledge in the 3D UD TV to prove to the consumers that LG is committed to
being the world’s leading brand for immersive Home Entertainment in 2012 and
beyond.”
LG’s UD 3D TV also features a 2.2 speaker system consisting of
two 10W speakers and two 15W woofers that produces 50W of audio bursting to
offer a richness of sound that no other TV can provide. The woofers reinforce
the sound system to produce a lush audio experience that perfectly complements
the extraordinary visuals produced by the massive screen.
The new LG
84-inch UD 3D TV also includes LG’s expanded Smart TV eco-system comprising of
well over 500 Smart TV apps. Despite the comprehensive nature of LG’s Smart TV
eco-system, LG’s Smart TV remains easy to use, thanks to the enhancements in the
Magic Remote. The new remote is stylish yet designed with ergonomics and
ease-of-use in mind, allowing users to just point and click when controlling the
TV without having to worry about countless of confusing buttons like most other
remotes.
There is also a wide range of premium and local content and
applications for consumers to enjoy, including a K-POP Zone that features a host
of music videos, video clips and music from popular K-POP artists.
With
LG’s 3D audio and visual technology embedded in the 3D UD TV, combined with its
slim and narrow bezel design, consumers can almost literally recreate a 3D
Cinema environment at home, both in quality and scale.
LG’s 84-inch UD 3D
TVs is now available at RM69,999 at selected LG retail outlets nationwide.
