ASUS Ranks as the Most Valuable International Brand from Taiwan in 2017

ASUS has been ranked as the most valuable international brand from Taiwan for the fifth consecutive year in the 2017 Taiwan Global Brands Survey conducted by Interbrand, the world’s leading brand consultancy. ASUS is estimated to have a brand value of US$1.678 billion. The annual Taiwan Global Brands Survey is recognized as a key indicator of how Taiwanese brands are performing on the global market. ASUS and the other Taiwanese brands that ranked in the top 20 of the survey were recognized at the Best Taiwan Global Brands Awards 2017 ceremony, hosted by the Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs.

“We are very proud to be ranked once again as Taiwan’s most valuable brand at the Best Taiwan Global Brands Awards for the fifth time,” said ASUS Chief Marketing Officer Rex Lee, who received the award on behalf of the company. “This recognition exemplifies our dedication to pursuing the highest level of innovation and excellence. We will continue to push the boundaries of what will be possible for tomorrow.”

2017 has been a spectacular year for ASUS with numerous corporate achievements and the launch of new products demonstrating the company's commitment to world-class design and innovation. Forbes ranked ASUS as one of the world's Top Regarded Companies for its honesty, social conduct, company environment and product performance. Additionally, ASUS won a variety of prestigious product awards, including 15 iF Design awards, nine Red Dot awards, 15 Good Design awards, and 44 Taiwan Excellence awards. These awards reaffirm the ASUS commitment to design excellence and dedication to creating products that exceed user expectations.

This year, ASUS achieved two significant milestones with Zenbo, the first home robot design to provide assistance, entertainment and companionship to every family member. In January, the company began selling Zenbo in Taiwan and recently launched Zenbo in China. During Computex 2017, Zenbo won the Best Choice of the Year award — the event’s most prestigious honor.

ASUS also launched ZenFone 4, the first smartphone series in the industry featuring dual cameras in every model. Additional photography features, including exceptional low-light camera performance and ASUS-exclusive SuperPixel Technology, give users unlimited creative options and the freedom to capture their world from multiple perspectives.

ZenBook Flip S redefined thin, light and powerful 2-in-1 notebooks as the world’s thinnest convertible laptop at its launch during Computex 2017. ASUS also continued to perfect the computing experience in all of its notebook lines, including ZenBook and VivoBook. Laptop Magazine recognized the company's dedicated focus on quality and features by ranking ASUS the No. 2 laptop brand worldwide in 2017.

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) further solidified its position as the No. 1 gaming brand by equipping gamers with the best gear, such as ROG Zephyrus, the world’s slimmest gaming laptop powered by a 7th Generation Intel® Core i7™ (Kaby Lake) processor and the latest NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1080 graphics. ASUS ROG also demonstrated its passion for gaming by sponsoring the AAA esports teams Ninja in Pyjamas and SK Telecom T1, and by hosting competitions — such as the ROG Masters Tournament — that hand out prize pools of up to US$500,000 annually. ROG even collaborated with a hotel chain in Taiwan to create the world's first gaming-themed hotel. Designed to be the dream vacation lodging for gamers, the hotel comes fully furnished with the best ROG equipment in a stunning, gaming-themed environment.

To strengthen its role of corporate citizenship, ASUS has continued development of a proactive corporate social responsibility paradigm to reduce environmental impact, innovate green technology solutions, responsibly manage its worldwide supply chain, uphold workers’ rights and invest more in emerging communities. Significant achievements in these areas include Taiwan’s Executive Yuan awarding ASUS the CSR Development Award, UL certifying ASUS headquarters as the first Zero Waste facility in the IT industry, and Social Responsible International approving the ASUS Social Return on Investment Report (SROI), making it the first company in Asia to receive this certification.

In addition to the recognition and numerous product awards ASUS received this year, Chairman Jonney Shih was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by T3, a leading technology publication, at their annual award ceremony in London. The award recognizes his strong leadership at ASUS as well as his contributions to the technology industry as a whole. ASUS remains committed to challenging the status quo and will build upon its success in 2017 as it continues its journey In Search of Incredible to create the best digital life for everyone.
